Kleo Buddy Press Site is S L O W

I love the theme, everything is working great except that the site is slow. I have read through all your suggestions and I would like your insights into using a caching plug in like W3 Cache as you suggest, but my question, is can it be used with the buddy press? I would think that the caching would interfere with the interactive nature of the pages.

Can you please help?

I guess that I was not using the correct caching plug-in, nor perhaps emptying the cache because with the other pl\ug-in I used, WP Fastest cache, everything would speed up a lot but I would get the cached versions of the posts instead of the news posts.
I will continue to monitor, but this was a great improvement.
