Kleo Posts Carousel Settings – images are not optimized for SEO

Using gtmetrix.com all images on the carousel are marked as scaled (in YSlow) e.x.:

“… is resized in HTML or CSS from 480×270 to 215×121. Serving a scaled image could save 37.0KiB (79% reduction).”

Please add an option to use images that fit and don´t have to be scaled down in CSS – for better performance.

yes, you are right – that´s the same like using ShortPixel Image Optimizer, EWWW Image Optimizer Cloud or similar. But that´s not the problem! The ratio of the images (width x height) are bigger than they need. The images are 480×270px big although they are displayed at 215×121px. So it would be great a ratio for the pictures that are displayed on the carousel could be set.

Hello, if you wish to resize them you could do this with css by assigning them a size using width x height, but to do so with all your images you might need the help of a developer

Hello Laura,

the images are already scaled down using CSS – and that´s the fault. CSS only affects the

display

of the images, but their

size

remains the same. And that´s why Google Page Speed marks all images of the carousel as not optimized – that´s bad for SEO.

You should really contact a developer of the theme. This has to be fixed because it´s bad for the SEO of Kleo.

Hi,

You can easily adjust the images sizes from wp-admin -> theme options -> blog -> Enable Custom Image sizes -> ON . From here you should be able to set the custom images size for specific cases.

After changing image sizes you need to regenerate thumbnails using https://wordpress.org/plugins/regenerate-thumbnails
