Hi
the other day I had an issue where the site styles collapsed and left me with basically a site with structure but no styling anywhere.
Support told me to contact my host and ask them to disable caching for our hosting. I did that, and the styles came back.
I have been working on some bits, including some custom CSS tweaks (which I since removed). Strangely now in IE the styles have collapsed again. Same in Safari. I have cleared the local caches for these browsers.
In Firefox and Chrome the styles are still there. I am scared to clear the caches on those browsers because of waiting for a fix.
I have contacted the host to see if they reactivated the cache, they say they have not.
Can you please check to see if you are getting similar behaviour on the various browsers? And if so, what the problem might be?
Many thanks.
April 29, 2017 at 18:07 #159969AdamKParticipantUnfortunately Firefox and Chrome caught up and now the styling in those browsers has collapsed also.
Please can you take a look and let me know what might be causing this?
April 30, 2017 at 06:19 #159984AdamKParticipantAddition: I’ve uninstalled and reinstalled the (recently updated) Kleo / child theme.
I’ve cleared all caches on all browsers and hard reloaded.
I’ve asked the host company to double check the caching just in case.
Turned the modules and speed combining options off and on again
Most plugins are still deactivated from last rebuild
Theres no error under themes about missing stylesheets
The child stylesheet is present and the pages source has a link to it themes/kleo-child/style.css
I’m not running any caching plugins
Tried activating the main Kleo theme, clearing local cache and hard reloadingThis problem is very frustrating, please can you have a look and let me know how to stop this from happening?
Many thanks

any update on this support query? It’s been 4 days since I posted it.
This loss of styles is the second time this has happened and the delay in support assistance is really costing me a lot of time on the project deadline.
Please can you let me know what is causing the loss of styles and how to fix it.
Many thanks.
May 4, 2017 at 18:54 #160413RaduModeratorHi,
Sorry for the delay,
Odd issue, did you have tried to reproduce that with no plugins active ?!
An alternative for that it’s to place all style.css code from child theme to the quick CSS area, in this way the CSS will be rendered in wp head instead to load new file to the theme.
I haven’t heard about this issue at the rest of the KLEO customers
Let me know
Cheers

if you are talking about the style.css for the child theme under Appearance > Editor (or opening the style.css file directly) those are the custom styles as far as I can see and I have removed all custom styles trying to get this to work, so those files are empty. On both Kleo and Kleo child.
Yes I have tried this with all plugins disabled apart from the default plugins that come with the theme, as mentioned on the 30th.
Please can you actually have a look at the test site and let me know what is causing this because this is the second time it has happened with this theme. I am not so interested whether it has happened with other customers, I only know it is happening with me.
Thanks
May 8, 2017 at 15:53 #160671RaduModeratorHi,
Using safari and browsing your site for 4-5 minutes I cannot see something wired or unusual, provide a screenshot to see what you encounter there.
I was referring if the CSS changes that you made in child theme style.css file ( wp-content/themes/kleo-child/style.css ) are not loaded into site move those all styles to quick CSS area.
I need a video or at least a screenshot that shows me how to reproduce that, hard for me understand exact the issue that you encounter.
Cheers

never mind, after waiting 9 days for support on this matter, with no idea if I was ever going to get any support at all, I had no choice but wipe and reinstall the site a third time.
May 8, 2017 at 17:59 #160693AbeKeymasterHi, If you encounter this again we will take a look and do some investigation since we can’t reproduce it locally.
Cheers
