    Hi,

I notice my WP-editor being slow lately as I shift from editing pages to customizing the theme.  I checked with my hosting service (siteground) and they mentioned that the Kleo theme was slowing it down after running some tests.   They ran other themes such as Make, etc and it seems to be running smoothly so they wanted me to check with your developers of there any specific php setting that you recommend for optimization.  I am currently running WordPress v 4.7.4 and using your latest Kleo theme v4.2.4.1.

    Here is what they wrote:

    Hello Rinda,

    Sorry for the delayed reply.

The problem appears to be with the current theme that is in use.

I was testing various things on the site, but nothing was indicating specific problems – there are no generated errors in the application or server logs, an strace is not showing anything specific, and none of the php values on the server were cahnged in the last maintenance.

I tried various basic changes to the site – increasing the memory limits, clearing caches, changing the php version etc, but once again the back-end was rather slow.

Lastly I temporarily played with the active themes via wp-cli, and it appears that whenever the kleo or kleo-child theme is activated the back-end slows down.

Your other custom theme – make, seems to work just fine, as do the default wordpress themes.

I’d recommend to contact the theme developer, and ask if there are any specific PHP setting that are necessary, as at the moment the problem doesn’t appear to be related to server settings or problems.
