    Hello,

    Hope you are well.

My host company is recommending I move my site onto a newer server and use LiteSpeed. This will mean removing the current cache plugins W3 Total Cache andย  WP Optimise.

Will the theme still perform well with these adjustments?

Thank you for your time and any advice.

    Hi,

The theme will perform well with LiteSpeed but performance overall will still be down to your host servers specifications as well as the amount and quality of plugins used.

I can’t foresee any issues using KLEO on LiteSpeed so long as all caching and performance plugins are cleared and disabled prior to your move.

    Thanks,

    Kieran

    Thanks Kieran, much appreciated.

I will share this information with the host company before they migrate.

    All the best, Gina

    Hello Kieran,

My server has moved the site to Litespeed but now it doesn’t display correctly.

This is happening with Apache and LiteSpeed. As such I have left the site running on LiteSpeed BUT with all caching disabled for now.

Are the styling and menus something that can be fixed/regenerated within the theme itself?

    Please can you help.

    Hi,

Do you have minifaction enabled via a plugin or via the theme options for theme related files? If so, disable minification everywhere, purge all caches at server and WordPress level – then purge your browsers cache (Ctrl+F5) to see if the issue persists.

“This is happening with Apache and LiteSpeed. As such I have left the site running on LiteSpeed BUT with all caching disabled for now.”

Your website was working fine on Apache the other day when I looked. What has changed since?

Thank you so much for taking the time to reply, I have shared with the host.

I am freaking out with worry.

Basically, on Sunday the site started to get slow and unresponsive so I contacted the host for them to check the RAM and they wrote back to say:
I have met with an error in nginx, have now switched your webserver back to apache, site is back online as I can see.

This caused an issue with the CSS in the dashboard area when editing posts.

My host server said it was the memory issues causing the problems I’m seeing and recommended that it would be better to migrate the site and do the Litespeed thing, which is what they did today.

Now, I am in an even worse place and the host company don’t seem to know how to fix it.

    Host company latest replies:

I have been able to reduce the number of “Refused to apply style from ‘<URL>’ because its MIME type (‘text/html’) is not a supported stylesheet MIME type, and strict MIME checking is enabled.” errors, by disabling the “?v=4.1 query strings” from the kleo theme options, and commenting out the “AddType text/html css” entry in /home/womenssoccerunit/public_html/.htaccess , however some are still occurring.

Additionally, I do still see signs of the W3TC installation remaining such as entries in the /home/womenssoccerunit/public_html/.htaccess which could certainly be contributing to remaining issues.

I do believe minification was enabled, though I am having to search through WordPress admin to find exactly where.
If necessary, we can roll back to the old server, however I am sure these remaining issues can be resolved.

    Latest reply:
    Hello Gina,
I have enabled “Developer Mode” under “Theme Options” >> “Miscellaneous” , which has made the admin panel look correct for me, and when testing the site further, the only pages I see deformed currently are https://www.womenssoccerunited.com/groups/fifa-under-20-womens-world-cup/ and https://www.womenssoccerunited.com/contact/
Please ensure that you test the site after flushing your browser cache, and possibly after logging out so that you see the visitors experience.

PS. Please can you make my previous reply on this forum as private, I forgot to click the button. Or delete if you read it, thank you. Gina

    Hi Gina,

I am going to escalate this ticket to one of developers for their thoughts on the issues you’re facing as I am unable to see a solution to the issue. Someone will be in touch with you as soon as possible.

Note: https://www.womenssoccerunited.com/groups/fifa-under-20-womens-world-cup/ appears to display okay but issue still present on https://www.womenssoccerunited.com/contact/

    Thank you for your patience,

    Kieran

    Thanks Kieran, much appreciated.

The host are saying they are getting a better view of the site, they said:
I had to enabled “Developer Mode” and “Remove query string” options again under Theme Options.

I have removed all browser cache etc but I am still seeing problems from my view, but when I log in, it displays well and seems to work.

    Hi,

Can you screenshot please with the problems that you are seeing as guest ?

I cannot see anything broken on my end

The issue may be the caching plugin that caches to hard, if you turn off the plugin you still see that broken ?

    Cheers

    Hi Radu / Kieran,

I was just about to update you but can see you have seen we have made good progress.

The host server made a couple of adjustments to get it back, one of which was a javascript setting in the home slider.

There are a couple of small things that need fixing but will come back to that at a later date as a big football tournament is starting today.

I’m just so pleased to have the site looking back to normal ๐Ÿ™‚

Thank you both for taking a the time to look and help, I will keep you updated when the whole process is completed.
