    Hello!

Currently, the default setting for Mailchimp Newsletter sign up is double opt-in (users need to confirm subscription after the first sign-up). I understand that the double opt-in can be changed to single opt-in (no second confirmation required) given that you guys are using their API.
Double opt-in reduces signups by 50%. So, in the beginning, I’d rather have single opt-in..

Where can I change that? I think, it would be useful for many users.

    Thank you!

If you’re using the AutoChimp plugin you can go to WP-Admin->Settings->AutoChimp and make sure “Bypass the MailChimp double opt-in.” is checked.

Thank you Adam. Yes, I have the AutoChimp plugin, but here I am asking about the Newsletter SignUp widget which is not using the AutoChimp plugin.

Ah ok. Doesn’t look like that can be done for the newsletter. See here:

With API, it can be done. It cannot be done if using MailChimp’s web interface. SQ is using the API, so they may be able to do it (I suppose, it is a parameter in their MailChimp.php file).
