Hello:
Good system so far, BUT
one big question:
On the first page, and all other pages with “I am a”, and “Looking For A” fields, when man and woman are put in, the results are always woman and man!
They are reversed!
I have looked around and dont see problem, the man/woman stuff is entered OK in the sample data I am using.
Man/Man returns no results, since I dont have this in there.
City only search and Age only search return the right results.
BUTT man/woman returns woman/man AND woman/man returns man/woman!!!!
HELP!
Its been like this since I installed it!
Steve
You can do the search yourself from the public address below.

It sounds like you need to reverse the logic of the search forms. If you wish to send login credentials I would be happy to do this for you. If not, follow the below steps
– Go to WP Admin > Users > Profile Search and edit your search form
– Move the ‘Looking for’ field above the ‘I am a’ field
– Rename the ‘Looking for’ field to ‘I am a’
– Rename the ‘I am a’ field to ‘Looking for’Purge your website cache, CDN and browser cache (Ctrl+F5) and test to see if this resolves the search results issue.

I though about your reply.
Good idea, but its not that easy!
When I do the man looking for woman search from home page, I get MEN
BUTT
When I do same search on members page, using fields at top (circled in RED), I get women!
Somewhere the logic is backwards!

I just checked the search on your members page and it is returning the expected results whilst logged out. Can you open your members page in an incognito / private window and test to see if the search is working for you whilst logged out. If it is, keeping the incognito / private window open, login and see if the search still works.
Let me know the outcome,
Kieran

so I swapped the fields on the search form for the two searches under the Members menu item, AND on the main screen (your template defaut)NOW it works better, since I am=Man Looking For=woman on search for produces the results you would expect.
BUTT, when I turn the Complimentary Field stuff ON and OFF, I keep getting the same search results, I even change the percentage stuff and NO difference in search results!
I have experimented alot with these two fields ON and OFF and I keep getting the same results on the search results, regardless of settings!
Enable complementary fields
Complementary fields mandatory matchingI am quite certain that the cache is disabled (SuperCache in WordPress, I dont use CND stuff, AND the Firefox cache is cleared each time), so no ghosting!

what is the point of the complimentary search fields one and two???
Is there a URL you can point me to to get them working better??
Do you really need this, just swap the names on the search form!!!!???October 4, 2018 at 14:31 #211145Kieran_SQModeratorHi,
The complimentary fields is a feature of the profile matching (the percentage/match when viewing a profile) and is not related to the BP Profile Search feature in any way therefore it will have no effect upon it.
The demo search form comes as standard so to allow opposite and same sex searches by default. I will pass on a note to the developers about including more preconfigured search forms to reduce any confusion in the future.
Thanks,
Kieran
