I set the custom image size for the masonry grid to 480  x 270, and selected crop rather than resize, and saved changes. However, on the archive page displaying the masonry grid the featured images are showing at full height rather than cropping.

    Hi,

After you have selected your desired size install and run this plugin : https://wordpress.org/plugins/regenerate-thumbnails/

that was the first thing I tried. It seems your code is pulling the featured image, not the thumbnail of same, so it ignores the thumbnail size parameters

There you have this option “Crop instead of resize” you can set on and regenerate the thumbs and check again.

The images should be cut not staying full width

Again, it’s NOT USING THUMBS. Your code is using the featured image, not the thumbnail size, so telling me to resize thumbnails isn’t helping at all. Added to which, as I’ve already stated in the first goddamned sentence of this thread, I set it to CROP ALREADY.

Christ sakes, read what I wrote before telling me to do what I already told you I did.

Provide admin credentials to investigate, but de-activate child theme before to provide credentials to me and check again it’s possible if you have modified the archive template to have that overwrite with a certain modification
