Match username and name inputs at register page

Hi guys,

I am wondering, whether you will be able to help me. If not, I will understand…I just can’t tell if this is very complicated issue or very easy code for you to do in minutes 🙂

I don’t like to have two name fields in my registration page ( one from buddypress I believe and one from your theme ), but unfortunately both names are used throughout the site so I can’t really delete any of them either. The only solution I was thinking about would be to add a code to functions.php to make both input fields to match upon registration – something similar to a code I posted a while ago https://archived.seventhqueen.com/forums/topic/add-confirm-email-field-in-register-form

I have tried to play with a code, but it’s like reading Chinese for me 🙂

Hello, that is not available right now, because username is used to login and name is used as display name, its manage by buddypress so we cant change this but maybe a developer can do something for you 🙂

Thanks for your reply. I have posted this issue in buddypress forum. Will see if they come back to me with an answer or not 😉
For now I have just written a note next to username and name and hope that my users will follow it 😀
