Hey, (Sorry) me again…
I’ve added a couple of multi-select options in my user fields so my users can select multiple options. (Ie, Interests)
I have tested this, and the fields are added and show up on their profiles great, but they do not all appear in a search.Again, any help much appreciated.
Thanks.

Change the profile field types from multi select to drop down select box and re-anwer all the profile fields from the “edit” tab in a user profile. I had the same issue and that seemed to have fixed it for me. Hopefully that helped.

I’m in a real pickle… do you have any sort of guide to sorting out the fields for searches?
Also, I can’t remove one of the Field Groups, which is annoying. It appears to go but then it keeps reappearing. And one last really stupid question… I never installed the child theme, but now i’d like to make amendments.. If I install it now will it mess up what I have already done?
Thanks..

Try looking also at this topic which is similar with yours: https://archived.seventhqueen.com/forums/topic/search-by-selected-fieldsTo remove profile field groups just go to Users -> Profile fields, click the group you want to remove and the click Delete Group.
For the child theme just upload it, activate it and all settings should be kept. I think you only need to reassign your primary menu from Appearance -> Menus
Let me know what exactly you can’t complete if it will still be the case

Thanks, yes I installed the child theme and reassigned the primary menu so that’s all working fine.
I have tried numerous times to remove one of the field groups by doing what you said but it wont budge. (It’s actually a field group which has been created by the BP Profile widgets plugin so I guess there may be a bug with the plugin)
Re: The search fields.
Yes I have read that topic also and I have reverted back to using drop down select fields and no search button but it still doesn’t work.
The search never returns anything even though I have assigned those fields to my users. Thanks,

Okay, I think it may have been something to do with the default values I had selected.
I have now removed the default values from my fields and the search seems to work perfectly! Thanks,
