Multiple issues – please help!

Hi guys,

I asked a couple of times and I’m not sure the problem was understood each time so thought to try again! I’ve numbered the issues below and explained as well as I can so hopefully that’ll help! 🙂

1. Notifications aren’t working properly.

I am able to add notifications to my menu bar etc, and when I have a notification, I can indeed click on it to see the notification there. HOWEVER, the bubble with the notification does not show as it does on the demo. There’s no ‘iOS style’ number/colour circle above the menu option. I have tried all the relevant settings but nothing has worked so I’m wondering if something is broken and if someone could check? Thanks.

2. Status updates.

I would love to make ‘Status Updates’ the default option on the activity feed. I presume this will take some custom coding/CSS, so if you have an idea how to set this, it would be much appreciated!

3. Adding friends.

I have set up two profile accounts – one for myself (as a person) and one for myself (representing the website/company itself). There are set up on different emails – the ‘company’ one is done via the original WP log in I used to create the site. The personal one was simply done by registering with my Facebook account.

My problem is when I add a friend on one account, I am unable to add them as a friend on the other. Why would this be? The only reason I could assume is linked emails (which shouldn’t happen) or ISP addresses, which shouldn’t be the case either. Could you advise on why this might be?

4. Changing usernames.

I know the ability to do this is limited but I’d like to change my username. Can you advise a way of doing so? Thanks.

5. Sorting blog posts.

Have you added a way to sort blog posts, in a similar way to the portfolio sorting option, yet? Would love to see this live asap!

6. Automatic user confirmation

For some reason, my users have stopped being sent their activation emails automatically. I’ve tested to see if this was due to plug-in clashes but it doesn’t appear so. As a result I’m having to manually approve people and would like them to be automatic again but can’t find a simple tick box or setting to click back to ‘automatic approval’ etc. Can you advise?

Aaaaand that’s it!

Hi Ash,
The majority of your questions are not Kleo related, but lets see if we can knock some of these out.

1 & 3 – Would be happy to take a look, but you didnt provide a link 🙂 Do so privately with credentials as well

2 & 4 – Do a google search or ask over on the Buddypress forums since its their plugin.

5 – There’s no ETA on this. I dont think its planned for 2.4.

6 – That’s usually a hosting/server issue. There’s some topics here about it, but probably better to do a google search. That’s a standard WordPress function. Kleo doesnt touch it.
