ParticipantHi, so want to use the custom group types I have created but the only way I can see them is with this group type search plugin and as you can see from the second image the result when searching messes up the style of your plugin.
It would really be awesome to simply be able to add the new group type to the built in drop down of the groups filter. Can you help?

ModeratorHi,
Copy this file wp-content/themes/kleo/buddypress/groups/index.php to wp-content/themes/kleo-child/buddypress/groups/index.php
Add as many options you need

Cheers

Participantsorry but “wp-content/themes/kleo-child/buddypress/groups/” folder does not exist. Its just the couple files in the child theme, should I make all those folders in there? Like its a directional thing?

ModeratorYes, you should create the folder/folders

ParticipantHi, only problem now is that the groups are not being filtered when I select the new filter. I am using a plugin to make the group type. http://tonedistrict.ca/groups/ and select event management. I left that only the toronto events one as “event-manager”

ModeratorHi,
I see, in this case, I don’t have a plug and play solution and please take a look at those solutions and discussion about the same topic.

ParticipantHey Radu, I am having trouble with this. The group types plugin works, the index.php does add the filter name on he drop down for groups, however it does not filter out the group type when it is selected on the drop down.
When i go to the group and click the filter on the group it does filter out everything but the ones it should, bt it would be great if the filter selection on the groups page would work 🙂

ModeratorHi,
The group types cannot be easily added there, I’ve tried but I cannot see any quick solution for that.
You can try to make a list of links for every group type in goup page or where you need and show it as menu type.Links example :
http://localhost/kleo/groups/type/vips/
http://localhost/kleo/groups/type/default/If you cannot handle that I recommend you to hire a developer to help you, since those are not theme problems.

Participant“make a list of links for every group type in goup page or where you need and show it as menu type.” not sure what you mean here. I would be making links where? Like for a widget for some kind of side menu?

ModeratorWhere you need in your case in the BuddyPress group page to see all group types, BuddyPress doesn’t pull all group types to list them into a navigation, this should be made custom or to be added to that filter.
No quick solution for that, from what I see you ask development things and our support covers only small modifications and product questions.
