news feed for media uploads

Hi,

Since my website will only revolve around media uploaded, you should give the admin the chance to filter the “Activity” , or news feed as we all know it, to users and viewers seeing the media uploads ONLY. No point to see statuses and text posts in my website.

Therefore, once my user uploads any kind of media file, I their followers/friends see it on their activity/news feed.

That is already possible using built in buddypress functions. You can either filter the feed: http://premium.wpmudev.org/blog/how-to-customize-the-buddypress-activity-loop/ or you can stop bp from even logging certain activities in the first place. https://gist.github.com/BoweFrankema/ed8ea0435223d7b361d5 You can look in the activity table in the db for all possible options.
