for some reason i think my theme hasn’t updated. I noticed because i didn’t see the option to add demo content through the appearance tab i have seen in other post. I have the child theme and my other kleo theme says 2.0 but there is nothing indicating i can update in the wordpress dashboard. whats the best course of action to fix this and get everything up to date without loosing all the settings and customization i have done setup for the site.
December 19, 2015 at 01:15 #94199sharmstrModeratorThemeforest changed their code months ago and the version of Kleo that you’re on isnt compatible with their auto update. Update via FTP. Once you do that, you’ll receive notifications on future updates again.

December 19, 2015 at 01:20 #94201PDMuniversalParticipantoh wow. Im not really familiar with using FTP is there perhaps a video or written tutorial?
December 19, 2015 at 01:24 #94202sharmstrModeratorFTP means to copy the files to your server. Your hosting company can assist you with that.

December 19, 2015 at 01:30 #94204PDMuniversalParticipantokay so i would just get them to copy the new wordpress ready file zip into the place of the old one. Or would i need to copy the new updated kleo and child theme into my server as well? Im trying to figure out how to keep all the pages and plugins i have and transfer over.
December 19, 2015 at 01:39 #94205PDMuniversalParticipantalso when i look up FTP info they just say to use FileZilla so im guessing this is a task i will have to do myself.
December 19, 2015 at 01:45 #94206sharmstrModeratorDid you read step 2 in the FTP section of the link I sent you? It tells you what you should transfer 🙂

December 19, 2015 at 04:31 #94229PDMuniversalParticipantThanks a lot! but now i have a problem. I used filezilla and put the new files in and updated everything on the dashboard and checked the website and everything was up and running smoothly. Then the next minue i cant load any page and i am getting this message
“Fatal error: Cannot call overloaded function for non-object in /home/content/p3pnexwpnas03_data03/23/2424023/html/wp-includes/capabilities.php on line 424”
what did i do?
December 19, 2015 at 06:01 #94236sharmstrModeratorWhat version of PHP are you running? Who’s your hosting company? I googled that error and it seems most people with that same issue is on godaddy.
Also, did you update all of the required plugins after updating Kleo?
Did you clear your server cache or purge your cdn if you have one?

December 19, 2015 at 17:05 #94264PDMuniversalParticipantI apologize for not really being that knowledgeable but i don’t really know about PHP or how to find what version I am running. I am using godaddy and have found others who use the same hosting company with the same problem. I did update the plugins like suggested after updating kleo and i have not cleared the server cache. I do this by getting one of the plugins correct? And for some reason I am not able to install any of the cache plugins.
December 19, 2015 at 17:52 #94271sharmstrModeratorNOOOOO!!! Do NOT install a cache plugin.
Godaddy has caching on their servers. I believe you should have a link in your WP admin menu for clearing the cache. If not, contact godaddy.
I also read those posts about godaddy and many of them indicated that changing the PHP version fixed the issue. You can find out what version of php your site is running by logging into godaddy. Contact them for assistance.
