Password Recovery – Not working properly

Good morning,

Our website is encountering an issue with password recovery/reset. Once someone receives the password reset link, it becomes difficult to reset the password. Here are some examples of what people are experiencing:

Person 1: “I just went to reset my password and I ran into a problem.  I entered the new password, went to re-enter it and saw that the new password was gone and I was unable to reenter the new password.”

Person 2: “The email came and the link worked. However, after entering my new password I am not able to re-enter it in the confirm dialogue box. After typing the first character in the confirm box, all characters vanish from the first box, except for the first character. Additionally, the confirm box does not show any characters have been typed. ” 

Person 3: “I seem to have trouble recovering my password for the InforMath site. I vaguely recall something in the meeting about other people having the same difficulty. It doesn’t seem to give me the correct password recovery link.” 

All people trying to recover passwords are Buddypress users. As an admin, I am also experiencing the same issue of being unable to type in a new password on the front end. See attached picture.

There also seems to be an issue with password reset links and “expiring” before ever being used.

Please advise. Let me know if you need any further information.

Hello, have you tried deactivating some plugins and testing again? It could be a plugin conflict
