Hello SeventhQueen!
I present my issue over here also so maybe people who has the same problem will find this useful. The problem is that sometimes my popup login form isn’t working. It stays stuck at “Sending information, please wait” (or something like that since i’ve mine in italian – see attached image).
For example, yesterday was working fine, today it isn’t.
No plugin update.
No modules update on server (we have or own server so I can know exactly if something is happening on there).WP v4.1.1
SweetDate v.2.8.1<h4>WHAT I’VE TRIED</h4>
I’ve deavtivate all plugins, nothing changes
I’ve try different browsers (IE / Chrome / Firefox)
I’ve try to access on mobile phones, no success.
Empty the browser cache – nothing. The only thing working is to login trough wp-login.php (that works) but the problem is that users do not know that URL.
Any suggestion? Fix???
Thanks a lot

Also check out custom codes in functions.php
Cache plugins may have settings that creates a conflict.
If we dont find the issue, we can create a redirect to wp-login when clicking on Log InHi there!!! Help others from the community and mark any reply as solution if it solved your question. Mark as a solutionLaura Solanes - Graphic Designer and Web Designer

April 16, 2015 at 13:14 #54775NicoleParticipantHello Laura. The problem isn’t everyday, but random. As I wrote at the begginng I’ìve already tried:
WHAT I’VE TRIED
I’ve deavtivate all plugins, nothing changes
I’ve try different browsers (IE / Chrome / Firefox)
I’ve try to access on mobile phones, no success.
Empty the browser cache – nothing. So disabling even all the plugins wasn’t the solution :/
April 16, 2015 at 13:31 #54781LauraModeratorHello, so it is related to your hosting response time, please try to contact them 🙂

April 17, 2015 at 09:21 #54909NicoleParticipantThanks Laura, since the hosting, is our own server I’m gonna tell the guy who is incharged of it to check it out. I will let you know if we find a fix/solution/issue over there 🙂
April 17, 2015 at 10:42 #54911NicoleParticipant@Laura I’ve a quick question. Does the template have set a timeout request for the server. I mean, by default, does the template have a incorporated timeout timing in the script?? Thanks 🙂
April 19, 2015 at 00:56 #55114AndreiModeratorHi @Nicole, the timeout is set from your httpd server settings.
In your case it seems that it’s set to 5 seconds, so if from some reason (which is again related to your server configuration/availability/load) the login action will take more than 5 sec’s to reply to the ajax request, the server will cut down the connection and it will leave the ajax call hanging. Here is a screenshot where you can see a few details about the response of your server, so you should increase the timeout time from “Keep Alive” to around 15-20 seconds, depending of the preferences of your hosting server admin.

I’ve changes KeepAliveTimeout from 5 to 15 as your suggestion.
Lets hope this will work! Thanks again 🙂April 21, 2015 at 15:32 #55369AndreiModeratorHi Nicole,
You should try to make a full copy of your website and upload it on another hosting server, preferably a managed one, not self build. This way you’ll see if the issue comes from a misconfiguration of your server or something else.
Looking forward.

Remove those css rules and everything will be just fine.Cheers

After speacking with the other, we belive isn’t so easy for us to MOVE everything to another server. Since we have several users using the site. Plus, we manage different servers and is kind of complicated to us to buy an hosting space with an another company just to make a test. (also for security issues, they normally don’t let you to manage several stuffs, as /var or /etc directory or even php.ini file. So it will be even more difficult.
I was considering change the login, instead of the pop-up to use a normal login form page, and redirect the users to their profile. So when a user clic on the LOGIN button in the right top corner will be redirected to a login page.
Do you confirm I need to change the header.php file? Thanks a lotApril 28, 2015 at 16:45 #56450AndreiModeratorHi Nicole,
I was recommending you just to move to a normal hosting environment for testing purposes only to detect from where does the issue comes ( from server configuration or a theme / wp / plugin bug or conflict ).
Moving the login to another page will resolve the login issue, but think at other places where ajax requests are used and where this timeout issue could cause other kind of errors or problems.
Please let me know if I can help you with anything else.

Would you please just help me out with the code I need to change (and in which file exactly)???? I would really appreciate it since this is my last chance… everyday the site is just stuck because the buttons doesn’t work..
Thanks a lot! <3
June 15, 2015 at 02:57 #62761AndreiModeratorHi Nicole,
The file you need to edit is wp-content/sweetdate/header.php and around line 184 you should have the login button link. You will have to remove the ‘data-reveal-id=”login_panel”‘ code from the link and just add the desired url in the href attribute.
Please let me know if you need any more help with it.
Cheers

I’ve made some major test with 2 plugins that I personally consider “complicated”. WC Cache and the WP Security plugin. I’ve deactivated them, delete cache and whait for some days. Now, the popup login form isn’t presenting the issue anymore, so i’m pretty sure of those 2 plugins was generating the issue.
Thanks again! 🙂
June 15, 2015 at 14:26 #62865AndreiModeratorWell, I would bet that the issue comes from the caching plugin, maybe it’s caching ajax calls, thing that wouldn’t have to happen normally.
I’m glad that you manage to get it working finally.
