Portfolio Meta & Number of Items

Hey guys,

I’ve two questions regarding the portfolio page:

1) How can I include meta data for the plugin page so that when I link to the page, there’s a snippet shown much like I can set for pages with the All in One SEO plugin.

2) How can I change the number of portfolio items being shown on the first page? The filtering among categories only works on the items shown initially, hence I’d like to show all so the filters make more sense!

Hi,

1. Not sure if i undestand correctly so you want to use the metadata for posts/pages that are generated by the plugin instead of meta from the theme ? If yes they should have a shortcode for that. Let me know

2. You will have to edit the page with visual composer and to edit the element portfolio and limit the number of the items there. Wp-admin -> pages -> homepage

3. There is no quick solution to make them integrated into buddypress , you can follow and inspire from here : http://mridulgoswami.com/adding-custom-post-type-to-buddypress-activity-the-right-approach/

sorry, I mistyped that in my initial post. I want to add metadata to the portfolio overview page, which is generated by the theme and thus I cannot edit that under pages, because it doesn’t appear as a standalone page.

Dear Radu,

let me try to clarify 😉 So, when I insert a link to a page on e.g. Linkedin or Facebook etc it pulls metadata and shows a snippet of text and an image. For normal pages, I can alter what is pulled by using a plugin like All in One SEO.

Now, because the portfolio page is not a page in the traditional sense, I cannot apply the same logic. But I would still like to determine, what metadata / text is pulled – even if I need to hardcode it somewhere. Hence my question, where I could best insert that.

ok, I solved the meta issue by using the shortcode and set up a new page 🙂 How can I increase the number of portfolio items shown so people don’t have to navigate through portfolio item pages and the filters work among all items?
