Portfolio vs Regular page or post

Please help me understand the key differences between Portfolio item vs Regular page/post

Advantage or disadvantage of creating post within Portfolio or Outside. Thank you very much.

Portfolios are a custom post type that the Kleo team has set up so you can easily separate them from regular posts. Think of a marketing firm that would want to use portfolios for showing the ad campaigns they’ve created, but use regular posts for marketing tips and tricks.

If you dont have a need to have two different types of posts, then use the standard wp posts.
