Post Update button missing from groups

When posting a an update as an individual, the Post Update button appears when you click in the text area. The same doesn’t happen when you post an update to a BuddyPress group. Clicking in the text area does not reveal the Post Update button. This is preventing us from posting messages to an entire group.
