Did I miss any tutorial info? Actually i did not see any change log info with the new update.

September 13, 2017 at 14:47 #173537LauraModeratorHello, there is no tutorial because its related to your custom changes, i can’t do much either because you need to adapt your changes t the new files, we can’t create a tutorial as not everybody does the same changes to the same files and as its related to custom changes we can’t also do it for you at the support forum

October 5, 2017 at 18:50 #175759gfischParticipantSo how can I learn to do the changes? I was busy the last weeks but would like to start now.
Thanks.Andreas
P.S. I don’t understand that there is no change log with this new version or any information what to take care of. If you would just blindly click on update you get into big trouble. I guess this is now how it should be? Doesn’t this create a lot of support issues?
October 6, 2017 at 01:13 #175799LauraModeratorHello 🙂
We need to update buddypress templates to be compatible with buddypress new versions, so we are forced to update them. Also, child theme changes are optional, done by the customer, not included at the theme.Let me explain a bit more, the theme itself, has to be updated to be compatible with the included plugins. If buddypress developers change the template, our theme wouldn’t be compatible with it unless we update them too.
So that means that any customer who did a change of those templates at the child theme need to update those files with the new templates.
Why there is not a guide? Because every customer has its own customizations, not everyone change the same file and the same thing, we do not know which changes, where…
Also, child theme modifications are not something we created, but the customer so we can’t offer support for your own custom changes.

October 24, 2017 at 00:03 #177578mbfitParticipantI`m curious, I know that Word Press seems to auto update on my Dashboard (would like to stop that personally), does BuddyPress and bbpress auto update as well?
With my thoughts, if I have everything running as I like it, why really bother updating Buddypress, bbpress, and theme? It seems one would always have to play catch up themselves with their own site?October 24, 2017 at 19:08 #177721LauraModeratorHello, depends on the server, but usually if you go to plugins you should see if any requires an update.
To disable auto update of wordpress you may need to ask your provider to do so if its managedHi there!!! Help others from the community and mark any reply as solution if it solved your question. Mark as a solutionLaura Solanes - Graphic Designer and Web Designer

October 26, 2017 at 07:26 #177900mbfitParticipantThanks Laura. I bought this theme last year in June/July never updated the theme until last week. In that time I had updated all plugins like rtmedia, etc, when they came and never had issue with my site…however updating to 2.9.5 I have a several issues..
I think if one has their site the way they want it, it seems counter-productive to update any plugin or theme for the latest bells&whistles that may not even be used/needed for ones site, just to avoid conflict with a theme especially if one is not a coder. Just food for thought for others as this has happened to me.October 27, 2017 at 10:49 #178083LauraModeratorHello, yes i understand, the issue is that old version have “holes” that hackers could use to enter your site… Updates fixes bugs and closes those doors so they are secure
