Hi Support,
This is bit of a shot in the dark because I don’t know if it is related to the theme or not… I hope it is the theme so that you can help 😉
Anyway, it seems none of my users are able to edit their profiles unless they are an administrator. All of my users are subscribers and they don’t get any error messages but rather, the changes just don’t take affect/save.
E.g.: A user navigates to his edit profile page, changes his sex from male to female and clicks on save. The change shows on the edit profile page but when you go to the view profile page nothing has happened and the old value is still present.I have tried checking the DB for corruptions, deactivating pluginsand re-sintalling WP and BP; however, none of it helps.
Have any of you seen such a problem before?
Thanks,

Do you have any caching plugins active on the buddypress area ?
If you use caching, you will need to disable it for certain pages, like member profiles, member listings and a few more ( basically on all pages where you have dynamic informations ).Could you check our theme on a fresh install, and see if the problem persists ?
Waiting your feedback !

Thanks for getting back to me.
It works perfectly on a new install and the problem only happens when I point the new install to my existing database – this leads me to believe that there is something wrong with my database. Also, no cache is enabled.
This is obviously not a theme problem so I won’t harass you any further. however, if anyone has any suggestions then let me know.
Best regards,

– disable all your plugins
– comment out all custom functions / code snippets
– start and enable your plugins, one by one, until you find the plugin which causes the problemI’ll be happy to help if you find out more details about this issue.

Your method helped me find what was causing the problem; the extended profile fields plugin. Abe already helped make this plugin compatible with your theme (good for the birthdate field) however, one part that doesn’t work is editing a profile. If a user has uses the extended xprofile plugin for birthdates, then it stops them from editing there profile. I will get back to Abe to see what he can do – this topic is located at: https://archived.seventhqueen.com/forums/topic/xprofile-fields-plugin-compatability-with-sweet-date
Thanks,
