in your demo there’s an “about me” section and a bunch of other fields. In the unpacked retail version there’s just “name”. I understand how to add more fields to Base via buddypress, but how do I set up the others like the “about me” section?

You can create fields groups (like about me ) and fields inside of them from wp-admin -> users -> profile fields.

Buddypress puts the @username on the cover, and right underneath there’s Username as the profile title, then right under that there’s Name: Username in the Base. A profile doesn’t need the username repeated 3 times at the top – that’s a huge waste of space.
Also I’d like additional fields to show in the cover, like you do in your SweetDate theme, and change the order the profile field groups and profile toolbar items are displayed.
September 7, 2016 at 17:55 #135284RaduModeratorHi,
You can modify the structure of the profile header by modifying some php files but you know how to handle this,
The responsible file for member profile header : /wp-content/themes/kleo/buddypress/members/single/member-header.php
for member cover image : /wp-content/themes/kleo/buddypress/members/single/cover-image-header.php
All those files can be overwritten in child theme to can be theme updateproof so practically you copy those files and in child theme in this path : /wp-content/themes/kleo-child/buddypress/members/single/
NOTE : Child theme needs to be installed and activated
Cheers

What you sold based on the demo and what was provided don’t match. I shouldn’t have to add additional code to make the site do what your demo does.
