Profile location field to geo location GEO my WP

Hello.

i have installed SweetDate Theme with GEO my WP and budydpress.  I’ve activated GEO my WP with the following addons

1. Members Locator 2.0 which includes Xprofile

2. SweetDate Geolocation 1.0

3. Gravity Forms Geolocation Add-on

 

the problem I am having is that when a new user registers via http://www.mydomain.com/register/ the ‘City’ field does not populate into the users geolocation. They would have to do that manually. I need the users location to update with the city field on the registration page and/or the location field in their profiles.

Hello, to make the city populate you need to use GeoNames ( check at Sweetdate > Buddypress at city and country fields )

Hello, i have created a geonames username and enabled the free service, and i have put the user name into the box under SweetDate > BUddypress > GeoNames. the geo location seems to be working if a user puts their location into the ‘location’ tab in their profile after they activate their account. but the user’s location is not set automatically upon registration. how can i fix this?

Hello, geomywp has an addon to use an xprofile field as the location, you can use the city field for that please check https://geomywp.com/extensions/xprofile-fields/

hello, i have purchased and installed that plugin, however the profile field is still not populating the location tab. also the registration form is not populating the location tab.

never mind, i have found that i needed to enable it in the settings. thank you for your help! this issue has been solved
