Profile name appears twice

Hi!

After update, my profile-fields changed so that it has “user’s name” twice. Both are so called primary items which cannot be deleted normal way.

Site asks user’s name twice also with registration form. Does someone have similar problems?

I don’t think it is related to the update. Check your fields under Users – Profile fields or any other customizations

Now it appears 3 times… none of thome is removable. I’m quite sure that it’s related to update because it came up right after update.

Hi,

I found a solution, but I’m not sure does it make somekind of issues later on?

1. You cannot delete any of these “name”-fields, because those a listed as primary items
2. ….but you can make a new “form-group”. Name it how you want
3. Move these duplicate fields to this new group
4. Delete this new group

Duplicate fields are now removed. This definately seems very suspisious method. What do you think @abe Can it cause issues later on?

No it won’t cause issues. It is strange. Some plugin could add this Name field

Hello,
I would like to know how can I delete a profile field. I created a profile field in primary field (required) group at Users->Profile fields. There is no need of it and i can’t delete it. It do not have Delete button. I can move it in other group and that field dissapears in registration forms, but it’s still shown in registered users profile, when I’m checking information about the users. In this field shows the users full name, so it’s repeating the other field. A user above mentioned about creating a new group, but there is no button for creating a new group and i can’t move it in new group and delete that field with deleting all new group. How can i delete that field?

Yes you have the option to create a new group, a button on the top of the page called “Add New Field Group”. Create a new group, move it to than one and delete the group
