I try to understand why a friend of mine (who created a profile to help me understand the way my website acts)

when she  come on my website with a link or the adress , she arrives on one of my own profiles(admin), then she tries to loggin.

why doesn’t she arrive on the first webpage that I chose( blog page) or even on her profile page, or even a login page?

this is a realy important point, that I find hard to understand, how pages behave and why?

I need big help to solve that rapidly

Hello, she is redirected to your admin profile when entering the site?
Check at theme options, check your redirection settings, maybe leave it to default and install https://wordpress.org/plugins/bp-redirect-to-profile/ see if this works

    hello laura

I have a big problem about pages and how they behave.
it’s so much a mess I lose myself and become mad.

    one example inextricable seemingly:
on the menu you made, there’s a ling to “buddies blog”
in my wp admin settings I can see the page and modify it, but when I’m in campingbuddies, clicking on this “buddiesblog” in menu, it redirects me to my own profile(campingbuddies’s profile. that os really annoying
I don’t want that at all, and nothing seems to work in order to change that comportement.

about my friend, she does arrive on one of my campingbuddies profile “lovichoza”, and she says :like if it was mine.(I have erwan cereal camper, and lovichoza”admin”, and elgood not admin.

I’m waiting for her to call back to explain to me by voice, cause she wrote it by mail to me.

but anyway, there’s something wrong with my links, redirects, and behavior of my site.

I first didn’t understand why I had to have my own profile on my website, when I only need to have an admin WP login to create that website. that leads to confusion. even when testing, if I want to just visit campingbuddies as a participant, I need to be logged in as a participant user with no admin.
so I need to logout, and login with another credential, not admin.

give it a try, create yourself a profile not admin, not support, and you could see what I mean.

    cheers

Hello, i understand the confusing of having your admin user there, buddypress creates a profile for the admin too and we cant delete that sadly, but you nobody knows you are the admin unless you have the ADMIN as a name.

The issue with the blog was that you had at Settings – Reading the front page and blog page as the same, when this is not needed, you just select that the frontpage is blog page instead, should be fixed now

    it is, thank you!

but I realise that page is not the same anymore, it used to contain allhe articles, like

    https://campingbuddies.app/tous-les-articles/?preview_id=2766&preview_nonce=e7c63264ff&_thumbnail_id=-1&preview=true

    but with the blog page

anyway thank’s for setting this right.
I’ll rebuild my blog page I guess it’s Kleo container , right?

    Hi Laura

ok , do you have a link to tutorial or info that would help me to fully understand this?
In fact , the http://www.campingbuddies.app page is the one I wanted, and the title is “blog”
but the “buddies blog page should be this one as well(well, i’d like, and it was) so I need to understand clearly how and why.

https://campingbuddies.app/ this page was the blog page and, the “accueil” page

I think I don’t understand what you mean .. do not set the page as blog page, in settings,”reading”

and when I try to modify this page I have a white empty page with only the chef hat in the middle. it often happens, why? (see screenshot)

Hello, is set to be the blog, so it’s not being used as a normal page. If you want to have an edited page as your front page, go to settings – reading and select it as front page. If you want that page to also be the blog, use visual composer elements to show posts. But do not select the page as blog when you also have it as front page. This breaks it
