Question for anyone about forums.

Hello,

My group forums parent is the forum root but the is a text bellow that reads.

( Using the Forum Root is not recommended. Changing this does not move existing forums. )

Do I need to create a parent forum?

If I do that the link looks like / forum/ forum

Thanks of the answers! but do I really need yo have a groups forum?
When I create the group forums the links are really long ( group- forum/forum/ forum)

Right now I don’t have a root forum and the link looks like this ( http://ridepond.com/group-forums/ )

I don’t think you need to have a group forum. Does it work without the root forum?
