is there a way for members to “rate” a person?   i saw one of your videos on youtube where there was 5 hearts and 3 of them were red.

Hello, there are many ways, but in that video the plugin used was https://es.wordpress.org/plugins/rating-widget/
This plugin has a lot of settings but if you want to use it only with buddypress profiles then disable the rest and enable it, its very easy to configure 🙂
