Since the latest update, our custom changes have reverted back to their original state and we are unable to reinstate them.

The code for removing the hearts (found here https://archived.seventhqueen.com/forums/topic/removereplace-the-love-hearts-in-site) initially worked, and the hearts were removed. Since the update the hearts have returned to the site, yet the code is still in the child/functions folder.

We were under the impression that changes made to the child file would not be removed with future updates.

Hi, All the changes done in the child theme won’t get replaced since the update is done only to the parent theme. Make sure the child theme is active

    Hi Abe,

Thanks for your reply 🙂 Are you able to advise how we check the child theme is active? We have done a lot of customization in the child theme which is still working so I guess it is active? But am unsure where/how to check.

Hi Abe! Below is a screen shot of what happens when we go into appearance themes and into the child – does this mean it’s active?

If in Appearance – Themes it appears activated and you can’t activate it, then yes it is active
