Remove sidebar for specific post types

Is there a way to alter the layout or remove the sidebar for specific post types?

I would like a sidebar on a blog post but I have a resume post type that I would like to remove the sidebar. I’m not sure how?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Hello, for each post and page, you can choose to have your own sidebar, like in the screenshot.
Just select the one you want and save 🙂

Thanks for the reply.

The problem is that in the theme options page under “blog” you can select the Single Post page Layout. However when you change it. It changes it for all post types. I would only like to change the layout for one post type.

Resume posts(the layout I wish to change) are submitted by users of the site, and its not ideal or possible for them to change it when they create a resume.

Hello, do not worry, that option is in each post too, just above the publish/update button you can choose a template for the post, for left sidebar, right sidebar… Let me know if that helps 🙂
