Remove text in portfolio cover

Hi,

1. I am looking to completely remove the text shown in the cover photo (see the attached picture).

2. Why are certain portions of sentences in profiles showing as links?

The first solution worked great and removed the text…thanks

I will contact Buddypress on the second. I like the idea of having certain fields to show others with the same info however, in that particular field it seems to have arbitrarily selected text to do that and looks strange.

I contacted buddypress to see if they could help me with the second question an they provided the following responce

So I created the bp-custom.php file in my plugin directory and inserted the code and it broke my site. I tried deleting the bp-custom.php file but it still wont bring the site back up.

What directory is the site being served from? The root or from cmpgannex?

I thought it was being served from the root. Not sure when it got changed around to include cmpgannex. Thought it might have been something w3 cache created. To be honest I am not sure.

Deleted this. Need to sort out something else first. Will let you know what to do when I have it sorted. Sorry.

I was right. You’ve added code to /kleo/lib/plugin-buddypress/config.php. You’ve put in edited version of the kleo_bp_replace_placeholders function in there. You can do that. You can’t put it anywhere. Remove it.

In the future, don’t edit any files in /kleo/

Also, if your site isnt ready yet, disable your caching plugins. Its only going to cause you grief. Furthermore, if you dont know how to configure it, hire someone to do it for you. It will be worth it in the long run.

Ok as always thanks for your suggestions and help. Don’t remember editing that file and usually always do through the child.

I copied the original code back into the /kleo/lib/plugin-buddypress/config.php

I disabled and removed w3 cache and get the following error…

The files appear to be missing or out of place. Please re-install plugin or remove /home1/cmpgorg/public_html/wp-content/advanced-cache.php.W3 Total Cache Error: some files appear to be missing or out of place. Please re-install plugin or remove /home1/cmpgorg/public_html/wp-content/object-cache.php.

So my question is did w3 create those files in the root and now those plugins are stored there and cannot be accessed
with out the plugin w3 enabled. Not sure what to do next.

Ok,

Deleted the everything to do with w3cache along with the cmpgannex root. I now have access to the dashboard trying to
get to the point before I jacked stuff up. Still having a problem installing buddy press plugin. After I activate screen goes white and can’t return to dashboard until I delete buddy press via FTP. Any ideas?

At this point in the game should I do a complete reinstall? I seem to be having a lot of issues that I cannot sort out. Think the W3 cache did a number on me.

Looks like I finally got everything somewhat back to normal. Do you recommend anyone in particular for customizing w3 cache? What are the cost like?
