Remove timestamp from birthday

Hi,

 

When i add a custom date field, on the front a timestap shows up: birthday: 1998-05-25 00:00:00.

How can i prevent the 00:00:00 from appearing? This is very weird and shouldnt appear.

Hello, its because the date field is not selected at Sweetdate > Buddypress
you should select it there 🙂

I don’t know what you mean. I selected the age field at Sweetdate > Buddypress.

What else should i do?

Hello, so is not the one you are using for Age?
If it is, mark the show age instead of date at sweetdate options

No it’s not. I add a custom date field for some additional profile fields. It’s really weird that the time shows up when i only want the date to show.

Hello, do you use the date field? Try https://es.wordpress.org/plugins/buddypress-xprofile-custom-fields-type/ this one ads a special birthday field 🙂

Suddenly the time stamp is back again.

I double checked that show age instead of birthdate is checked but i still see this: 2015-04-01 00:00:00

Any idea why this isn’t working anymore?

Thx for the reply.

This is the issue that i described at the beginning of this thread. This is happening in a extra custom added birthday field which i added using the plugin you suggested. And yes i selected show age instead of birthday.

You solved it and it worked. Now it is not working anymore suddenly. Any idea what it could be?

Hi Laura,

I just double checked but nothing has changed. I am using the latest version of Sweetdate. Even if i select to show age instead of birthdate it still shows the weird date format. But if i have this problem then everybody has that problem with the dates? It can’t be that the theme works like that.

Can you maybe have a look at the site? My client is very unhappy now and says she can’t launch her site because of the weird date display.

As you can see in the screenshot i selected age field as birthday. I also don’t know why it’s not working. I don’t understand why it should ever show the whole time stamp anyway.

Hi Rhodo,

I cannot where in front end it’s displayed the birthday date with the timestamp but anyway, i’ve find out that you have to many birthdate fields in wp-admin -> users -> profile fields.

So please remove those, and leave only on primary tab the birthday field, then go to wp-admin -> theme options -> buddypress -> Selecteer Leeftijdsgrens Veld (optioneel) -> re-select the birthday date in the current moment there you have 5 or 6 birthday fields also on Leeftijd veld !

So, please leave only birthday date from primary tab, then select those correctly and let me know
