What code (and where to place it) would I need to add to replace the homepage image with a content box (same style as search form box) which will also shrink down when the responsive design browser is decreased. This code does NOT have to be editable in wordpress pages section, I can modify the code directly if needing to change the text.

Maybe the easiest way is to write the text and put it in an image which you then upload? Just an idea 🙂

Thank you for the comment, unfortunately text on a image does not get picked up for seo, so really need the text to be added in the code.

    Thanks @bastkopf
You can edit this file: page-parts/home-search-form.php and replace line 4 with your own text
