Required fields in profile edit

I have added some extra profile fields that are required, but when a user forgets to fill out one or more of the required fields only the warn message is shown on top of the page.
Is it possible with some coding that when a buddypress member forgets to fill out required fields in their profile edit, that also the empty fields itself will turn red colored background to highlight them out? Thank you!! 🙂

We could easily do that if BP changed the class of the field upon an error condition so we could have something to base the highlight on, but they dont. All they do is display the error message at the top. Either search or ask on the BP forums. Perhaps its been solved before.
