responsive text using visual composer

Using the Food template, I’m trying to have the headers responsive. I’ve replaced the Custom Header elements with text elements (H1 and H2 selected) because the Custom Headers are not responsive as far as I can tell;  turned on the responsive check box, and set % for mobile and tablet in the Responsive Tab that appears, but the  text size does not change after updating and viewing. I’ve tried % and px ie 50% or 50px.

Does this feature not work in Kleo? The current headers in the template show up on multiple lines, with the word broken up…not very professional looking to say the least.

Am I missing something obvious?

If there is some code to add to child theme to get it working, that would be wonderful.
