Restore on Kleo not working

The restore did not work!!!!!!! Yikes!!!!! Now what? Please help!!!!
Did as instructed > {The notice it refers to theme panel settings ( logo,colors,fonts,font-sizes,etc )
Make a theme settings backup from Theme Settings -> Import/Export -> download data file.}

Then after update check if the settings remains if not open that backup file copy entire content an paste it to import from file then press import.
and no change. Went back into my copy I made on notepad, copied and pasted into import and nothing. Went to url import and put URL hit import and nothing!!! Went to original download file and tried to copy and past, but would not copy, either that or ?? Because no paste option appeared>>>
Please assist before you close for weekend.

The update had shown that the parent was updated, and I’m still creating the site in the child theme. Could this have anything to do with it?
