Hi
I wonder how I can set up the site so that when browsed to the first thing people si is a “disclaimer” page with the option to register or log in. As of today all my efforts to use plugins etc to restrict content, visitors still get to se my front page wich contain material, posts, userlists etc that I only wnat to be visible for logged in users.
So sort of a frontpage infront of the wp installation
Any tips or solutions for this ?

You can make your site private by doing the following
– Create a new page to be used for logging in
– Go to Appearance > Theme Options
– At the bottom of the page select yes to private site
– Select the custom page that you wish to use as the login page
– Select any pages you do not wish to be restricted (if any)
– SaveKieran.

BUT. When I try different settings and turn the privat site on and off I end up with the page not reflecting the changes. First I had trouble with the wp splash page I had previously installed. In the end i got pass this and saw the login page i created. Turning this off, and then on again results in me getting straight back into the pages supposed to be private. This happesn in all browsers, i am not logged in and i have emptied caches etc.
What am I doing wrong?
July 2, 2017 at 22:12 #165924Kieran_SQModeratorIf you’re using other means (plugins, code etc) to redirect users away or show them splash screens it could well be interfering with the default behavior of BuddyApp. Try disabling those plugins and bits of code and then see if it works for you.

July 2, 2017 at 22:16 #165925TerjemkParticipantHi,
I have deactivated the wp splash page and that is no longer showing so that is not an issue any more.
Now it seems like the changes I do to the setings when it comes to make the site private does not reflects when loading the front page in browsers.
I did get the login page to load a couple of times when I first set up the settings, but then I turned it off again to test something and when turning it back on, the site loads as open.
July 2, 2017 at 23:07 #165929TerjemkParticipantI think I sorted it out.
I purged all caches using my cache plugin. That seems to have solved the problem.
Thanks for your quick response:)
