Hi
I’m trying to get the restriction to work, but there’s something that doesn’t work.
The only place that restriction works, is when it is done through the Sweet Date theme menu, and it only works on those pages.
Paid Memberships Pro has made an addon to the plugin, so that it can restrict access to the bbPress forums.
But it’s not possible to restrict other pages, somehow, the special menu/restriction under Sweet Date is killing the restriction settings from the Paid Memberships Pro plugin on the pages, they don’t work.
When i switch to another theme, the WP 2014 theme, the settings on the pages works, but it still doesn’t work on the Blog page when it is put on a separate page itself, i know that that is a Paid Memberships Pro plugin problem, and i have written the authors about it.
One thing though, when building a membership site, it should be possible to close all doors, it should be easy to restrict everything to members only, and also to select what can be accessible publicly, i hope that that is on your list for future developments ?
All the best

I do not think that our settings from the Sweetdate panel are killing PMPRO default restrictions since we just applied a required level restriction to a page and it worked.Restriction everything on your site should require an Extended theme license. We haven’t planned this in the near future

And why isn’t the Blog restrictable, cause the settings is in place, or is it the same problem as above, have you tried restricting the Blog on a separate page like here in the Sweet Date theme ?
April 15, 2014 at 11:28 #15164AbeKeymasterIt makes no difference if they are imported from the demo or your own added. Like I just said “Restricting the Blog could require a custom code fro PMPRO team.” has nothing to do with the theme

But is still think when building a membership site, it should be an out-of-the-box feature that no one other than members could(as a setting/choice) view the site.
April 16, 2014 at 01:40 #15220AbeKeymasterWell that is why we added restrictions related to Buddypress since it is the main component. Right now the blog seems that can’t be restricted by PMPRO
