ParticipantFollowing the assistance from Laura, I have been able to set up more of the extended profile fields.
And I am very close to launching my Resume Database. But because I will be working with government institutions, they ill need some clarity.
These are a few features that I need to make my site more professional. Problem is, I am not a developer. And I suspect the features I am looking for would not need a programmer. These are features that may already be in the theme, but I am not sure how to activate. If they are not, adding them to KLEO would probably make sense.
Here’s the list
- With GDPR, its more imperative that I make the security features more visible and more easy to update. Upfront, at registration, how do I include the privacy options such as
me only
friends
friends of friends
public- Related to this, how can I restrict my blog atricles using the same rules above? If I want only my friends to read my articles, will KLEO restrict them from the Blog Top Menu?
- Still on security, how do I prevent Google and other search engines from finding members who want to maintain their privacy. I have seen a few plugins that claim to do this, but is there a way in KLEO (and BP 3.0) to ensure respect for GDPR without resorting to 3rd party plugins? Such as the expensive PMPro?
- How can I customise the Buddypress pages to match the theme settings? I have tried to use WBPage Bakery and Yellow Pencil, but the settings get ‘forgotten’. This may be a gap in my knowledge, but I think it should be an inbuilt feature in the theme, for Buddypress to inherit the theme’s page and css settings. If you have a KB solution, please send me the link. Hopefully I will understand it enough to have the confidence to implement it.
- How can I filter the members grid/carousel/list by other extended fields such as Member Type, Member Category, Location,
- Add icons to member buttons such as
private message
public message
add friend
cancel friendship
etc
As I said, I am not a developer, and the features I am asking about are probably already available. I just need that little help before I launch.
I Look forward to hearing from you
