I have been able to import the Rev Slider Demo content .zip files without any problems. So, I don’t think I have any hosting/server issues. However, when I try to import any of the FREE slides available from: http://revolution.themepunch.com/free-slider-exchange/
I get errors during installation. I have downloaded the .zip slider templates and tried to upload them manually – still no luck. I have also ensured that the free slides correspond with my version of Rev Slider (v5.0.8.5) + ZipArchive is “On/Enabled”
As you will see from the attached screenshots, the slider_upload.txt file does exist, even if the error message says otherwise. I have tried a previous work-around of just uploading the slider_export.txt file and via FTP uploading the rest of the slider content to the relevant wp_admin file on my sever – but all I get is “wrong export format” when I try to do this (see screenshots).
Am I missing something here? Or is this a common problem?
It would seem that I have the right server settings and permissions, otherwise I wouldn’t have been able to upload the original demo content/sliders? These all got uploaded easily.
The additional slides are free/open source direct from Slider Revolution so I would have thought that even with the ‘bundled’ Slider it should be possible to upload them?
Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.
Keep up the excellent work!
Andrew

As I continue to experience some upload issues with the open-source Rev Slider templates its obviously a problem as you have suggested. As a Mac user, the .zip file is uncompressed when downloaded, so I usually simply make a copy by “compressing it” and then use the newly created .zip file for upload. In all other aspects of WordPress this works 100% for me. Is there a better way to compress to avoid the ‘corrupt file’ errors?
Sorry for the basic question (everyone else please don’t laugh at me!! 🙂 I just wondered if I could do the process a better way?…
Thank you again sharmstr for you much appreciated feedback.
