Hi,
Two Questions re. Rev Slider. Site http://www.vineshare.com.au
1. I have added two buttons from the Kleo buttons page onto a rev slider slide, both same button:
[kleo_button title="SIGN ME UP" style="highlight " tooltip_action="hover" size="lg" href="http://vineshare.com.au/sign-up/"]
When this is on mobile device it is way too small – what html can I add to make buttons stay large enough to read.
2. Also similar to above question on rev slider, the general font is OK on mobile – but would prefer this font also to stay larger. On laptop and desktop font size and button size is perfect – but mobile is just a bit to small. Any advice on keeping this larger would be helpful.
Thank you!!
December 19, 2015 at 15:15 #94257sharmstrModeratorTry the visibility settings. For your current button, set it to display only on larger screens. Then add a new button that’s larger and set it to only display on smaller screens. I havent tested it, but seems like the way to go for both of your issues.

December 19, 2015 at 15:35 #94258vineshareParticipantThanks for this. As far as I can see you cant change visibility settings for individual layers – you can for overall slides, but not layers within them. Any other settings or solutions?
Thanks,
December 19, 2015 at 16:25 #94261sharmstrModeratorYes you can. Select the layer you want to change, then click on visibility, then select the device on/off.

December 19, 2015 at 23:20 #94316vineshareParticipantHi,

See attached for what mine looks like this.
Is this a different version / style of layout? Thanks,

Your version is so old in fact, that it doesnt work with Themeforest’s new code that tells you when there is a Kleo update. You’ll need to FTP the update to your server, then go to appearance > install plugins to get everything else up-to-date. On top of all of that, the slider revolution version 5 is totally different and you might have to fix your existing 4+ sliders to work with it.

Cheers,December 20, 2015 at 05:09 #94355vineshareParticipantHi,
I have done all this and everything is looking good except for my VINE DEALS page again – From my host side there seems to be nothing wrong. This is a page that uses the portfolio function – does it have something to do with this? Thanks,
December 20, 2015 at 15:01 #94391sharmstrModeratorAs I mentioned in the other topic, I cant even begin to help if you cant tell me what the 500 error says. You need to get that information from your server error logs. Let me know.
In other news… Did the buttons work out the way you wanted?

December 21, 2015 at 14:47 #94520sharmstrModeratorI’ll take a look now.
But I’m concerned that your hosting company couldnt’t do something simple like look in an error log. Even you should have access to those logs. Can you give me access to cpanel as well?

December 21, 2015 at 15:32 #94541sharmstrModeratorWhy do you have php code in your child theme’s styles.css file? I removed it.
This is the code I removed. If you want this code to run properly, it should be in functions.php
COPY CODE// Group buttons if ( bp_is_active( 'vines' ) ) { add_action( 'bp_group_header_actions', 'bp_group_join_button', 5 );
What’s more concerning is the “Main files 3” folder in your child theme. Why?

December 22, 2015 at 00:39 #94752vineshareParticipantOk I’ll do this later today.
Will this resolve the portfolio issue? Thanks,
December 22, 2015 at 00:41 #94756sharmstrModeratorI have no idea. But it is an issue.
How can I view your server error logs?

December 22, 2015 at 14:51 #94837sharmstrModeratorIts your spam shield plugin. I deactivated for a quick test and the portfolio loaded fine.

December 22, 2015 at 14:52 #94838sharmstrModeratorFrom the spam shield FAQ http://www.redsandmarketing.com/plugins/wp-spamshield/troubleshooting-guide/
“Are you using free (or ultra-cheap) web hosting? If so, this may be the root of your issue because free hosts often disable certain hosting features that WordPress and plugins need to use. We don’t recommend using free web hosting. Paid web hosting plans generally offer much better performance and features anyway. (If you’re on a free or ultra-cheap web host, and you get a 500 error, it may be because you may not be allowed to use .htaccess files on your site, so please check this with your web host.)”

December 22, 2015 at 14:59 #94840sharmstrModeratorIts finally writting errors to the log file. It could just be that its not Spam Shield, but its too many plugins and you’re running out of memory
[22-Dec-2015 12:54:05 UTC] PHP Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 134217728 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 65552 bytes) in /home/content/p3pnexwpnas09_data01/41/2617541/html/wp-includes/shortcodes.php on line 351
I changed your wp-config.php file so that wp will use 256M of memory instead of 128M, but its not working. Probably because Godaddy doesnt allocate that much to you. Go back to them, give them the error above and ask them to increase your memory.

December 22, 2015 at 15:14 #94848vineshareParticipantOk great. This is good news at least to find the error. Thank you!!
I’ll contact them tomorrow and get more memory. I’ll also try to free up more space. Hopefully this works. I’ll let you know.
Cheers
December 22, 2015 at 15:18 #94851sharmstrModeratorFreeing up space will not solve the issue. You need more memory. Its also worrisome that godaddy couldnt figure this out. It was in the error logs that I was asking for since the very start 🙂

December 22, 2015 at 23:01 #94982vineshareParticipantThanks for this. I have upgraded hosting and now have more memory. Hopefully this works.
I have tried it and no luck yet – ill keep trying. However I also deactivated WP Spamshield and the Portfolio worked perfectly – what can I do about this? Is this the main issue? Or the memory?
I asked GoDaddy about the error logs and think I have worked out something there for the future.
Thanks again,
December 23, 2015 at 00:19 #94985sharmstrModeratorIts hard to say. As I said, if you enable spamsheild, the error is that you dont have enough memory. If you had enough memory and still had issue, then that would point to spamsheild.

December 23, 2015 at 10:58 #95024vineshareParticipantOK, all is back and working. I had enough memory and was still having issues.
I disabled Spamshield and installed a new anti-spam plugin and it is now working fine.
Why would this be the issue? I was using Spamshield before the Theme update and was working fine – weird. Anyway, I really appreciate your help with this, and apologise for the annoyance!Ill let you know if I have any further issues.
Cheers,December 23, 2015 at 11:58 #95032vineshareParticipantIn regards to the slider revolution buttons – making different visibility on mobile and desktop etc.
How do I increase the size of the button in html/slider?
At the moment the size is set to “lg”What would I put for double or even triple this?
Thanks,December 23, 2015 at 16:33 #95083sharmstrModeratorEdit the button shortcode and add ‘bigger’ to the style parameter. Then in your quick css, add this.
COPY CODE.bigger { width: 500px; height: 100px; font-size: 50px; }
Adjust the sizes to suit you.
