Brett
ParticipantHello,
I just updated the ‘Revolution Slider Plugin’ on my website and now my home page is throwing an error.
“Slider with alias home as not found”.
I have tried to discover where the short code is in my theme that calls on the Rev Slider so I can change the slider reference and have it display a new slider but my Home Page does not reference any short codes.
Could you please assist with this problem. Where in the themes settings of my website is the reference to the rev slider?
- I have gone through all of the theme options to see if there is a setting there to display the slider on the home page.
- I have gone to Pages > Home and gone through all of the settings for the page itself. The ‘Header Content’ section contains no short codes.
- The short code is not in my child theme or any of my theme files.
I have included my WP admin details if you wish to take a look further.
Many Thanks,
Brett.January 3, 2016 at 22:11 #96070Abe
KeymasterHello, make sure you import the revolution sliders that come with the theme in the theme package Demo content folder. After you import them you should go to your homepage and edit the Revslider shortcode and select the slider to use.

ParticipantI have imported a new slider from the Demo content. However as mentioned in my previous message I cannot find where the shortcode is displayed within the pages section.
Are you about to access my WordPress admin dashboard?

ParticipantIt looks like on my home page the “header content” section is not updating because it is empty.
I have no rev slider shortcode in there but I am still getting an error on my front end saying it cannot find the slider.

KeymasterNo, that is not where you need to set it. On the VIsual composer section there is a Revslider shortcode. See the image

ParticipantI understand that, I know how to add a slider through the visual editor. My problem and my message is why am I getting an error on my page?

KeymasterBrett, that message is exactly what I said before. You have a revslider element on that page which needs to be deleted or edited and chosen a proper slider to show. Please do that and let me know how it goes.

ParticipantI have no revslider element on the page. No shortcode. This is my problem.
Have you gone into my admin? Can you see the revslider element on the page? If so please tell me where it is so I can delete it.

KeymasterAre you 100% sure you aren’t using any custom code since that should be the first thing to check before posting a ticket?

ParticipantEverything being generated on the home page is managed through the pages section of WP, hence why this is not making sense to me.
January 9, 2016 at 16:34 #97493Abe
KeymasterPlease try to go over your plugins and custom codes since that is not generated by the theme since by default the Revslider element is in the content which is not the case here. If you delete all page content that still appears so try to figure out what you have done.

ParticipantI have since updated the theme when I updated to the latest version of Kleo this problem appeared. Instantly after updating from an older version of the theme.
Would that give any indication of where this problem is arising from?
January 9, 2016 at 16:43 #97497Abe
KeymasterNo way it appears from theme update or plugin update so please follow my advice to get the clean theme version and maybe disable child theme or whatever is needed to test.

ParticipantOk interesting…
When disabling the child theme and enabling the parent theme I still get the same problem, so the code in my child theme isn’t the cause.
When I disable the Kleo theme and activate a default WordPress theme the problem goes away. So the source of the problem seems to be originating from the Kleo theme itself. Which makes a lot of sense as the problem emerged when I ran the latest update.

KeymasterNo way is from the theme, please save both our time and get a clean version from themeforest to replace your current theme

KeymasterI think we should be constructive on this but throwing with 1 star ratings generally does not do that.
I only try to help and you should reconsider a bit your attitude since my purpose is to help otherwise I wouldn’t replied 😉
I guess you don’t want to listen to my advices so I don’t know how to help you.
I hope you will see you judged me wrong once you will realise that the problem comes from your side.

ModeratorMy guess is that it has something to do with the fact that you’re running Kleo 3.0.1 and VC 4.5.2 with Rev Slider 5.1.3. Kleo didnt introduce Rev 5.x support until Kleo 3.0.7 or so.
The reason why you’re not getting Kleo update notifications is because your version of Kleo is so old that its not compatible with the new code on the themeforest servers that was introduced over 6 months ago. You’ll have to do a one-time update via FTP. After you update Kleo to 3.1.3, make sure you go to Appearance > Install Plugins and update VC to 4.8.1.

KeymasterProbably yes 🙂
Did you manage to adjust the Themeforest rating or 1 star is what KLEO deserves?
