Revolution Slider "Required Plugin"

Hi,

I think Revolution Slider is a great plugin however, we have no use for it on our site at the moment. I’ve had it deactivated for months with no issue but after updating the Kleo theme I noticed it was listed as a required plugin.

Can you please tell me if there is any harm in removing this plugin completely? If it is not safe to remove it then is it okay to have it deactivated?
