s2member login issues

Hi All,

I saw in one of your posts that Sweet Theme should be fine with S2member (Post Here). However, this is not the case and when I try to login it just hangs and says “Sending Info, Please wait”. I have ruled out a plugin conflict because the issue is still there even though all my plugins were deactivated. I need to use S2member because the Paid Memberships Pro conflicts with one of my more important plugiuns, the quick chat.

Do you have any advice?

I forgot to mention that the user can login if he refreshes his page while the login screen is hanging saying “Sending info, please wait…”.

I searched this on the net and it seems related to s2member and ajax login in general, not related to the theme. See topics opened on this issue:

Anyway we have found a fix to disable the s2member default redirect. Add this to sweetdate-child/functions.php:

COPY CODE

add_filter('ws_plugin__s2member_login_redirect', create_function('$arg','return false;'));

Thanks, but I tried that previously and it did work but the user then gets redirected to the dashboard and not the home menu. I’ll re-install everything later on and I will let you know if that has worked, after all, it works for you 🙂

Do let me know if you come up with any other ideas in the meantime?

I tried on a fresh install with no other plugins and the issue still exists. How were you able to get it working on your end? I will email you my admin login details to have a better look.

I forgot to mention that the problem on occurs when a user logs in and it works perfectly when an admin logs in. Also, everything works fine the moment I disable Sweet Date and use the default BuddyPress theme.

The same happens to me. works for the admin but not for guests.

Unfortunately that still doesn’t work. I have added in your code (both the S2 redirect disable and direct to profile page) but I still get the same result whereby the user is directed to the admin/dashboard page.

Would it work better if your theme’s redirects were disabled and we left S2 to deal with everything? If so, how can I disable your theme’s redirects? Furthermore, I need users to be directed to a custom home page and not their profile page.

That was a workaround for S2 problem that is not handling AJAX login requests. We’ll let you know if we find something

Hi sqadmin – thanks again for everything but you can disregard this post because I have decided to no longer use S2 but rather the Paid Memberships (too many complications)

Ok frien337, If it was something with the theme we would resolved it quickly but digging into the plugin is not so easy
