Search by city or by gender not bringing the rights search results. HELP!

What are the settings that I am missing in order to make the search results as accurate as possible. meaning If a member is looking for a person in a specific city such as New york city the results would only bring people that lives in new york city since that is the city that they input at the time of their registration.

Hi, if users have selected that city in their profile then they should appear. Do some tests on a specific user and search only by that field only

I noticed that users cannot select a city in their profile . they do in fact have to type it in. they only thing they an select is their country. Am i missing anything?

That is the way your profile fields are configured in Users – Profile fields. That is fine. But when you search you have to put the name users have typed.
