Search form: Hidden fields

Hi Laura and Abe,
during registration the users already fill in the sex fields, but in the search form they can choose again whether they are a man or female.
Is it possible to “hack” the search form with hidden fields, so that the users don’t have to fill this field again? Maybe it works in “Search form customization” -> “Text before form” with something like that:
<input type="hidden" name='field_739' id='field_739' value='men'>
The hidden value should be a dynamic database output.
