At your suggestion I installed the Buddypress Cover Photo so I could set a default image for new users – a placeholder they’d replace with their own image when they upload one.
It worked so-so (it removes the built-into-Buddypress dashed bordered image drag and drop upload area that matches all the other upload areas on the site, and replaces it with a crappy button)
But I noticed it overrode some changes I made to the cover header in my child theme. So I disabled the plugin. NOW MY SITE IS BROKEN.
There is no button to upload a new cover photo, and the old cover photos were wiped out and replaced with white and a horizontal divider. Worse, it’s somehow STILL overriding my child theme version of custom-image-header.php and forcing the default version, errors, redundant buttons, and all.
I’ve tried replacing the entire child theme with backup files, reinstalling bp-custom.php, everything. No joy. In short your plugin broke your theme, in a way that it can’t be unbroken.
A quick search shows others complaining of the exact same thing on wordpress.org and other places, with zero replies from you on how to fix it.
Please provide an immediate solution to this problem, and post it not only here but on the wordpress page for the plugin download so others can also fix their sites using your theme + plugin.
