Server requirements

I would like to have advice on server specification needed to run the theme together with buddypress and Geodirectory.
Also, need to know any security measures to be taken.

Thank you Laura for your answer. But the link you pointed is to set up Geodirectory, which I’ve read already.
My enquiry refers more to SERVER capabilities to run Geodirectory AND Buddypress together, as i understand they are both “heavy” plugins, that will require certain previsions.
Any advice will be great.

And buddypress should work fine in any server.
I have tested geodirectory and buddypress in a shared hosting of hostgator, they work well.

That is me asking, Laura, in Geodirectory support!
They are definitely suggestion NOT to use a shared hosting.
Your test was fully working? With all geodirectory addons installed?
