Because WordPress does not really support multiple different blogs on one installation many people use “category pages” as a workaround.
But these are quite unflexible and hard to customize.Wouldn’t it be nice to have shortcodes where you can place all the posts of a certain category or with a certain tab anywhere you want on a page, in a portfolio or anywhere else in your content?
Maybe with their own comment section or not.
And maybe in different formats to choose from, as short list, overview, normal blog style etc …So could even put let’s say 3 different “blogs” on one page.
There are themes that already have that feature implemented but don’t offer all the other great stuff, especially buddypress related that Kleo offers.
It would be just awesome to have that too.July 8, 2015 at 19:58 #67358sharmstrModeratorSounds like you’re talking about the kleo posts grid or the many vc posts grid shortcodes that already exist.

That is GREAT news.
These shortcodes can do even more than what I was asking for!
Maybe I should feel bad about not having found out by myself but I can’t really.
I already asked that before in this post:
https://archived.seventhqueen.com/forums/topic/additional-content-in-category-pages-possible
You (who else? ;-)) answered that post at that time with:
There is no shortcode, but the links you’ve supplied explain how to do it 🙂
I really don’t post that that here to make you wrong in any way but to explain how important a good documentation would be. Maybe you found out later or just didn’t think aboput it at the time.
These are all huge selling points for the KLEO theme that the developers do not promote enough i.m.h.o. because most of the features are not really published and buried deep down in the theme.
The Internet is full of questions how to make a second or third blog on a WP site. Themes like Kleo would be the answer but instead you find cumbersome “solutions” of how to work with category pages.

Seems like you do most of the work on this support forum.
I hope you get some kind of compensation for your work. You’re awesome!July 9, 2015 at 20:10 #67534maxlevelParticipant#sharmstr
Btw, How did you find out all the functions of the Kleo theme?
Did you go through all the shortcodes of VC or any other way to get that down as fast as possible?
Any suggestion is much appreciated 🙂July 9, 2015 at 20:41 #67542sharmstrModeratorI wouldnt say my answer was wrong. The title was “how to put additional content on a category page.” And your second question was ” additional content around the blog content of a category page”. Your second and third posts were about the archive/category pages. So my answer was correct for those 4 instances. Sure, you mentioned category content on a page and I overlooked that because of the examples given. In this topic, you made it more clear on what you were after. I’ve known about the shortcodes since day one.
I know the functions because I’ve contributed code and have highly customized my sites. Not to mention I’ve been answering questions here for over a year. You learn a lot figuring out other peoples problems.
Same suggestion as before. Install the demo content 🙂
