Sidebars bleeding into content

I just switched to your theme last night (from Avada) and the only way I can get this to work is to select full width. If I want a sidebar, the sidebar shows up over or under the content – they bleed into each other (see attachment). If I select left sidebar, it doesn’t bleed into each other but the content is pushed out of the bounds to the right. If I select right sidebar, they bleed into each other.

I’m really stuck, trying to get my site back up asap but this is a stopping point if I can’t get this fixed.
