Signup Form On Homepage

is it possible to have a signup form on the homepage instead of a search field and essentially block users from searching unless they sign up?

Great! Can you also set an option to prevent the user from browsing or even better would be to allow x amount of views and then require sign up. So I could allow 5 profile views but then require a sign up or to be signed in to view more. Is it possible?
